David D. Olson, Founder, Chairman and CEO
David D. Olson is Chairman and CEO of River Branch Holdings LLC. He has extensive experience in investment banking and private equity. Previously, Mr. Olson was a partner of The Yucaipa Companies, an investment firm with holdings in Asia, Europe and the Americas. Mr. Olson was a founder of Primus Pacific Partners, a private equity firm that invests in financial services companies in Asia. Mr. Olson was previously the Chairman and CEO of Guggenheim Merchant Banking, the private equity arm of Guggenheim Capital in New York and Chicago.
Mr. Olson came to Guggenheim with over 25 years of experience on Wall Street in management positions. He was Credit Suisse First Boston’s Chairman of Investment Banking for the Asia-Pacific region. Prior to CSFB’s merger with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, Mr. Olson held a number of senior executive positions at DLJ, most recently serving as Chairman and CEO of the firm’s Asia-Pacific region. During the 1990’s, Mr. Olson was co-head of DLJ’s Financial Institutions Group and the firm’s Chicago investment banking office.
Mr. Olson holds a JD from Northwestern University School of Law, where he is a Life Trustee, and a BA from Wesleyan University, where he served on the Board of Trustees. Additionally, Mr. Olson is a board member for the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago.
